DNS change for the server migration

Postby sander » 09 Feb 2009, 09:52

Some domain owners use our nameservers.
Because of the server cahnge we need to change the domainservers.

Please change:
ns1.phpbbhosts.co.uk.
ns2.phpbbhosts.co.uk.

into:
ns1.sbuh.nl.
ns2.sbuh.nl.

These name servers point to your current forum and will be changed to the new server after the server migration.
the old and the new nameservers both point to the same server/forum so normally there is no downtime.

If somethinggoes wrong it will take at least 12 to 24 hours to recover.

change them now.

When finished I can change the nameservers of phpbbhosts.
Then we can do the migration.

Modified. Think it was missing a dot.

I'll hope it will work in a few hours.

Other domain owners did not yet respond.

Hi Sander,

I have a couple of questions:

1. Does this only apply to people (like me) who have a www.myforum.co.uk address?
2. Initially when I set this up I only submitted the following information to the company who hold my domain name - as per upgrades page

Ask your domain registrar to point your domain to our ip 207.58.189.92

...so I have not actively set up the old nsx.phpbbhosts.co.uk name servers.

Do I need to do anything?

Kind regards,

Iain

if your domain is pointing to this ip it is ok now.
You have to change it on the forum migration.
the ip adress will change.

Did you get a email?
If yes: check the whois o your domain, it is pointing to ns1.phpbbhosts.co.uk.
If you have your own nameservers you just have to change the ip.
Dat is unknown because we still have some issues.
